Big Picture High School students are dual enrolled at one of our partner colleges (Goodwin College, and Capitol Community College are the partners), and they take a college course of their choice. Students earn a minimunm of six college credits prior to graduating from high school. Some Big Picture seniors will have earned between 18 and 22 college credits prior to graduation . Students have also received substantial scholarship award letters from several colleges/universities.

"The visionaries" (pictured above) Big Picture High School Principal Patricia Hymes, and founder of the Big Picture network of schools, Dr. Dennis Littky understood that students learn in a variety of different ways. Together they were instrumental in opening Connecticut's first Big Picture school, where students learn through their passions and interests via real world experiences.
