CAIS Top 10 Accomplishments for 2011-2012
-September, 2011: After making AYP under Safe Harbor, CAIS is one of only 34 schools statewide to be removed from the No Child Left Behind “Needs Improvement” List.
-October, 2011: CAIS named to ConnCAN Top 10 Lists for Performance Gains and African American Achievement for the second year in a row. CAIS ranked #1 for Performance Gains.
-February, 2012: 197 students and family members attended our Family Fun Night, the highest attendance recorded for an academic evening event.
March, 2012: At Parent Teacher Conferences, CAIS reached 259 of 260 families or 99.6%. 245 of those conferences were in person.
-2012 Grade 5 CMT Reading Proficiency and Goal Scores were the highest since the 4th generation started in 2006. (Prof. 68.3% & Goal 52.8%)
-2012 Grade 5 CMT Math scores posted the lowest percentage of students scoring in the below basic range since the 4th generation started in 2006. (7.3%)
-2012 Grade 6 CMT Reading Proficiency and Goal Scores were the highest since the 4th generation started in 2006. (Prof. 87.2% & Goal 70.9%)
-2012 Grade 6 CMT Math Proficiency Scores remained above 90% for a third consecutive year and were still the highest since the 4th generation started in 2006. (Prof. 95.7% & Goal 72.2%)
-2012 Grade 6 CMT Writing Proficiency Scores were the highest since the 4th generation started in 2006. (Prof. 75.6% & Goal 88.6%)
-June, 2012: Our 5th Grade Band placed #1 of all the elementary bands competing in the Fantastic Festival. The Arace Concert Band, grades 6-8, finished 3rd out of 35 middle schools.
